ACUPUNCTURE is one of the techniques of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is used to re-establish the balance of the Vital Energy that circulates in the energetic channels (meridians) of our body. When this energy doesn’t circulate in a balanced form, diseases start to appear. Through the utilization of stimulus (needles, heat, massage, laser...) on the acupuncture points we can re-establish the health, relieve pain and psychosomatic symptoms that could have been caused by the daily stress and by the difficulty in finding the balance between body and mind.	Acupuncture acts by re-establishing the dynamic balance of the energies.
	But Acupuncture is not only a treatment against pain, as most people may think. It is also used to treat digestive, respiratory, gynaecological or circulatory problems, depression, stress and tension related symptoms, just to mention a few of the conditions that can be treated. The knowledge of the cycles of life and of the energetic changes allows the Acupuncturist, an adept of the Traditions, to interfere and to search for the energetic balance of the energies, in a preventive way and not only in a curative one, avoiding the appearance of a disease (still in its initial energetic stage). All this, adjusting the man to the cycles of nature and showing him the respect to the essence of life’s law, that is the dynamic balance between Yin and Yang which are the reflection of the Whole or Absolute.
The diseases can reach 3 different levels. The first one, more superficial and, sometimes, without important physical symptoms, is made up of energetic syndromes that can be easily treated by acupuncture, thus re-establishing the equilibrium. At a second level, when the physical symptoms appear as organic functional disturbances, the action of Acupuncture is still curative since the energetic balance is reached. In a third level, when one reaches a deeper level of unbalanced energy, some tissues may have been damaged by chronic disease processes, then, the Acupuncture treatment can work as a supporting technique to a conventional treatment.
